Jasper's Story:

Jasper, a long haired Chihuahua was born 19th April 1987. He came to live with us at about 3 months of age.

This little fella had to be the toughest and smartest dog around, and over his considerable years survived falling off the settee; the bed; the back set of the car; falling down the stairs from top to bottom; getting himself trod on and accidentally kicked; and outsmarting bigger bullyboy dogs etc etc.

Jasper was quite a large Chihuahua, getting to about 10 lbs body weight in his prime, and like all Chihuahuas, had a very big bark.

I remember once the look of terror on the face of a man who'd come to read the meter: as my 14 stones came clumping down the stairs above the meter cupboard, and with Jasper cradled in my arms, Jasper entered into his much acclaimed Rottweiler impressions.... the poor bloke almost fainted!

Many years passed and it was our privilege to share in Jasper's development through all the years; from being a puppy to becoming a wise and selectively deaf old man! Sadly Jasper passed away on 7th Nov.2002 following a short illness. He'd reached the grand age of 15 1/2 years, and now rests in the garden of our home. His company is so dearly missed.

Jasper takes dad for a walk

Again, a day out at Llandudno N.Wales. Point of note: with a small dog, you do have to be vigilant for larger dogs, not adequately controlled by their owners... don't get me started! :-)
